The Brazilian presence at Egypt Defense Expo (EDEX 2025) is coordinated by the Brazilian Association of Defense and Security Industries (ABIMDE), in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil), with the support of the Brazilian Ministry of Defense (MD) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE).

EDEX 2025 is now in its fourth edition, having established itself as a strategic platform for governments, armed forces, international organizations, and companies developing land, sea, and air technologies. Held under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, the fair is organized by the Egyptian Armament Authority. It attracts more than 35,000 visitors, 400 exhibitors, and official delegations from dozens of countries.

The Brazilian agenda at the event is monitored by the Ministry of Defense, with the presence of Air Force Lieutenant General Heraldo Luiz Rodrigues, Secretary of Defense Products, and Colonel Luciano Fontana, from SEPROD's Trade Promotion Department. On behalf of ABIMDE, Project Coordinator Miquéias Souza will be responsible for supporting and organizing institutional activities.

Espaço Brasil is bringing together nine companies with portfolios ranging from advanced engineering to unmanned systems, including aeronautics, ammunition, technical textiles, and specialized services. Confirmed participants include: Akaer Engenharia S.A.; A.S. Avionics Services S.A.; BCA Têxtil Ltda.; CBC – Companhia Brasileira de Cartuchos; CSA – Centro de Serviços Aeronáuticos Ltda.; Mac Jee Indústria de Defesa Ltda.; M&K Assessoria, Exportadora e Importadora Ltda.; Modirum | GESPI Indústria e Comércio de Equipamentos Aeronáuticos Ltda.; and XMobots Aeroespacial e Defesa Ltda.

EDEX stands out for its extensive VIP delegation program, which includes personalized agendas, bilateral meetings, and mechanisms for engaging with authorities responsible for armed forces procurement and capability development. In the previous edition, 108 delegations from 60 countries participated in official activities, including defense ministers, chiefs of staff, and government procurement officials.

The program includes live demonstrations, technical presentations, government meetings, and interactions designed to strengthen industrial partnerships. Over the four days, exhibitors will have access to a matchmaking platform designed to facilitate discussions with potential customers and institutional representatives.

Brazil's participation in Cairo opens opportunities for new connections in a region that has seen increased investment in military modernization and industrial development. For ABIMDE, EDEX 2025 represents a favorable moment to deepen dialogue, position national technologies before key players in the Middle East and Africa and create paths for agreements that strengthen the sector in the long term. The Brazilian industry arrives at the event prepared to showcase its technical expertise, expand partnerships, and consolidate its presence in one of today's most relevant geopolitical scenarios.

Brazil Defense

The Brazilian Defense Sector Project – Brazil Defense – aims to boost exports by developing and implementing platforms for non-exporting companies and advanced intermediaries, including market monitoring, trade fairs, and integrated commercial initiatives.

Under the joint direction of ABIMDE-ApexBrasil, in collaboration with the Ministries of Defense and Foreign Affairs, the project implements a short-term international promotion plan to attract qualified companies to the global market. To consolidate Brazil's presence and competitiveness on the worldwide stage, integrating companies into the promotion plan and the sector's medium- and long-term agenda is a strategic advance.
