Captain Jagmohan (Retd.) has been appointed as the new Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL), a public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Defence. He currently serves as Director (Corporate Planning, Projects, and Business Development) at Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL).
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved the Department of Defence Production’s proposal for his appointment on April 17. As per an official order issued by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Captain Jagmohan’s tenure will commence from the date he assumes charge and continue until his superannuation on September 30, 2029, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
A qualified Naval Architect, Captain Jagmohan holds a degree from Cochin University of Science & Technology. He completed his postgraduate studies and earned an M.Tech in Naval Construction and Ocean Engineering from IIT Delhi and IIT Kharagpur, respectively.
During his tenure as Head of Design at Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE), he was instrumental in managing and executing the design of several advanced warship projects, including the Advanced Stealth Frigate, P28 ASW Corvette, Survey Vessels, ASW Shallow Water Craft, and Fast Patrol Vessels for the Indian Navy and Indian Coast Guard.
With over 25 years of service in the Indian Navy, Captain Jagmohan held key positions in the Navy’s Design Directorate (DND) and at the Naval Dockyard, Mumbai.
