Korean Air Launches New Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner and New Prestige Class Seats

Korean Air has achieved a significant milestone with the delivery of its first Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner, poised to redefine luxury and efficiency in air travel. Scheduled to embark on its maiden voyage from Seoul Incheon to Tokyo Narita on July 25, this state-of-the-art aircraft promises a new era of eco-friendly aviation.

The Boeing 787-10, the largest variant in the Dreamliner family, boasts a fuselage stretching 68.3 meters—five meters longer than its predecessor, the 787-9—allowing for a 15% increase in passenger and cargo capacity. Its carbon composite materials reduce weight, enhance durability, and cut carbon emissions by over 20% compared to similar-sized planes.

Equipped with cutting-edge GEnx-1B74/75 engines and advanced wingtip technology, the 787-10 maximizes fuel efficiency and minimizes noise, setting new standards in environmental sustainability The maximum range of the 787-10 is 11,175 kilometres, about 1,400 kilometres shorter than the 787-9 due to the longer fuselage and increased seating capacity. Korean Air’s 787-10 aircraft is configured with a total of 325 seats, including 36 Prestige Class seats and 289 Economy Class seats.

Korean Air’s commitment to luxury is epitomized by its new Prestige Suites 2.0 in the business class cabin. Inspired by traditional Korean aesthetics, these suites feature Jogakbo patchwork designs and a palette reflecting the elegance of the Joseon Dynasty. Each suite offers a spacious, private environment with fully flat 180-degree reclining seats, ample storage, and advanced connectivity options.

The economy class features seats in a 3-3-3 configuration with vibrant woven patterns of bold colours, creating a distinctive and lively atmosphere. The seats offer a recline of up to 120 degrees with headrests adjustable in multiple directions for optimal comfort. The seat pitch is 32 inches (81 cm), and the seat width is 17.2 inches (44 cm). High-resolution monitors supporting 4K resolution offer an enhanced inflight entertainment experience in both classes

With its innovative design and focus on passenger comfort, Korean Air’s Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner marks a significant leap forward in air travel, blending technological advancement with cultural sophistication to deliver an unparalleled flying experience.
